Press Release Workshop on “Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D)” Date and Place: August 29, 2013 at Sunway Hotel
The ICT4D Cambodia Network is a group of local and international NGOs in Cambodia, working together to enhance collaboration between the Cambodia’s project partners and SPIDER to promote transparency, sharing of information and a socially accountable Cambodia through ICT. The participating network members include Association for Progressive Communications (APC), East West Management Institute (EWMI), The Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions (SPIDER), Innovative Support to Emergencies disease and Disasters (InSTEDD), Open Institute (OI), and Women’s Media Centre of Cambodia (WMC). The ICT4D Cambodia Network is organizing a workshop on “Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D)”, which will be held on Thursday, August 29th 2013 at the Sunway Hotel. The purpose of the workshop is; to create a platform to discuss and raise awareness about the use of ICT for development; and sharing experiences of SPIDER supported projects in Cambodia. The workshop will be given in speeches and presentations by local and international specialists from government and non-governmental institutions to share opinions and experiences on how ICT can contribute to development in Cambodia. There will be a fair in which tables/booths will be arranged at the workshop venue for display of brochures, posters, stickers etc. of partner and interest organizations. The workshop willbe attended by at least 100 people from government agencies, local and International NGOs, youth, universities students, private sectors, and media.
