Voting TVs’ Debaters through IVR

Our partner IRI has been organizing a series of extremely successful debate programs on CNC and MyTV on different topics, as part of their name Next Generation Program. Open Institute's USAID-funded SPICE program has supported these programs by setting up a voting server to which callers could call through their phone and express their attitude towards the questions in the debates before and after the programs, allowing organizers to know if members of the audience had changed their opinions after watching the debates. The voting server used IVR (interactive voice response) technology and was able to show instantly the number of supporters of each one of the opinions.
