Phnom Penh - Under the technical support from Open Institute's USAID-funded SPICE program, Winrock International-CTIP II program launched the first telephony voice-based information service for Safe migration on Monday 3rd March 2014 at Imperial Garden Villa and Hotel, Phnom Penh. The technology used for disseminating the safe migration information through mobile phone is Interactive-Voice Response system, which allow users to call in to listen to pre-recorded messages. With generous support from USAID, the system was connected to all major mobile operators in Cambodia allowing mass simultaneous calls to many information service lines. Migrant workers or potential ones can call to number 095 975894 to listen to the pre-recorded messages. By following the instruction heard from the line, callers can hear messages covering topics from domestic jobs, preparation before departure to work abroad, do and don't when working abroad, to emergency service for migrant workers.
