In order to promote discussion on women's access to information, and raise awareness on the importance of access to information, the National League of Communes/Sangkats in collaboration with the Open Institute organized a forum on "Promoting Access to Information (related to Elections) for Women". The Open Institute, a member of the Cambodian NGO Committee on CEDAW (NGO-CEDAW), had organized research training courses on “Gender Perspective in Research”. The training was divided into two courses: Gender and Research on Education; and Gender and Research on Health. Each training course lasted four weeks and was held two days a week. For the last year and half, the Open Institute has been collaborating with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on the use of ICT in Education. Through the joint Open Schools Program, we have been working together on the training of ICT teachers in all upper secondary schools that have computers for education, on writing the ICT textbooks, and on research to define sustainable computer facilities for schools.
